Lotusland Donates $1M to Local Rebuilding Efforts

Apr 30, 2017

The principals, employees, and associates of Lotusland have been deeply saddened by the stories of loss and devastation from wildfires in Lake County, home to Lotusland’s Guenoc Valley property. Thousands within the community were deeply affected by loss and disruption of a magnitude one can scarcely imagine.

Lotusland was founded on the guiding principle that local community will foster, nourish, and sustain its projects, and the people of Lake County have gone out of their way to make the Lotusland staff feel welcome since their arrival. In recognition of the amazing people of Lake County and in celebration of their resilience, Lotusland chose to donate $1,000,000 to wildfire rebuilding efforts within the county.

The money was donated to Hope City, a ministry of the faith-based Hope Crisis Response Network. Since 2015, Hope City has rebuilt homes destroyed in the regions wildfires. On April 29, the Lotusland and Hope City staffs joined together for a check presentation at the Guenoc Valley property. It is Lotusland’s hope that in rebuilding from the ashes, the community of Lake County may be reminded of its strength, its resiliency, and its vibrancy. The staff of Lotusland is proud to be part of such a community.
